Sydney day 10 - Jenolan Caves

Exploring Jenolan Caves in New South Wales with the kids is really fun… but perhaps skip the hotel! Bel shares an “incident” that gave us the goosebumps! Read on 😉  This was a self-drive trip and it was a journey with a long and narrow winding route to Jenolan Caves. Drive with great care and note the warning signs for crossing kangaroo and woombats is there for real. The official website will tell you parking is free of charge. However, fuel is NOT available at Jenolan. So, please fill your tank…

Little Rock

A great way to cool off on a hot hot day. We visited Jamberoo Water Theme Park a family-friendly, fun water park and while its not huge it was a fun afternoon out. The park is amidst the countryside with a view of the mountains. It is not a new park so manage expectations. To get there you have to drive. Parking is not an issue as there are ample lots. Bring lots of sunblock as usual but everything else you can get there. The food was a hit…

Nestled amid the lush green environment of MacRitchie Reservoir, this glass house is an idyllic brunch retreat for families with kids. With 2 in tow bursting with energy and impossible to sit, I was glad for the “natural attraction” being the monkeys, birds and crawlies that came along free with our semi-brunch buffet. The MacRitchie inhabitants were close enough for our daughter to be entertained and taking snap shots of every creature that walked by, yet safe enough separated by the glass walls, we didn’t have to worry…

Mr Ung's Magical Safari

Be part of a convoy of jeeps as you laugh, bump and roll up not 1 but 4 mountain peaks to the very top – Mr Ung’s Jungle Safari is the only tour operator to conquer all 4 in a tour. Dress lightly with comfortable shoes / sandals and be prepared for the WILDEST 4WD ride of your life. I recommend you bring a cap/hat and shades plus do not forget the suntan/block, whichever your preference. Eat lightly before the ride, you definitely do not want to share what…

Mr Ung's

Editor’s note: If you are looking for an adventure in Koh Samui, check out this Jungle Safari tour – a 4-wheel drive jeep ride through the hills that’s full of fun and laughter, shares Bel.   We were ready for a full day affair, Mr Ung’s Jungle Safari did not fail us. Our rush started the minute we boarded the 4-wheel drive which includes a pick-up from our hotel around 7.30am. Our eccentric, affro-styled-meets-reggae host & driver was full of energy and tricks from the word go. You…
